The Rose & Crown has a large secluded garden at the back, safely enclosed by fencing and mature trees for children to play freely in the summer months. It also has a children’s play area with swings, slide and playhouse.It is the perfect place to enjoy a family meal in the summer months or just to relax with a drink and enjoy the outdoors.

Ashwell attracts many walkers and visitors, especially in the summer months, and the garden is a popular spot to relax and refresh after a long walk around the village or surrounding area. Indeed, we have welcomed walking parties for a number of years – it is possible to arrange for walking parties to park at the pub and pre-order their food before their walk so it can be freshly prepared for their return.

We also have a petanque piste which is used by The Rose & Crown petanque team in the summer but can be hired our privately upon request. There is ample parking in our carpark with easy access to the garden. Between the garden and the pub we have an outside covered pergola area with picnic benches and heaters for those choosing to smoke in the summer or indeed winter months
